The company was founded by Samuel Hofman in 1919 and produced metal toys and novelties including trains, miniature wagons, and cars. The firm commissioned Louis Wolf and Co. as their selling agent.

By 1920, the company incorporated and expanded the line to include a lightweight tin dump truck measuring approximately 7 inches in length and a "Main Street" trolley car measuring 6 1/2 inches long, Mohawk Metal Toy Company advertising disappears from the various trade publications during 1921 and the company is not heard from again.

I was very lucky to find a mint condition Mohawk tin tank that has a small cannon on its top. This little tin tank is also a bank. Looking for info from anyone on this toy. Can email photos. Thank You
