Cherilea Products Ltd. was founded in 1947 by Mr. Cherrington and Mr. Leaver in the 1940s in Marton, Blackpool. It was purchased by Sarna Ware in the 1970s.

They produced lead farm, zoo, wild west and knight figures from 1947 to about 1961.

The difficult to find figures are the Journey into space series and the Baronial series knights, both worth the search.

As with most lead producers Cherilea's first plastic figures were from their lead moulds. The knight from the Baronial being one of the rarest.

The original plastic designs had a range of swoppet knights and cowboys, as well as a nice varied range of soldiers and ancients including a Roman chariot plus Boudicca.

Original Cherilea figures were sold painted and were made of a type of plastic which did not bind with the paint very well, which means that it's quite difficult to find examples that have not suffered considerable paint loss.
